EXERCISE GUIDE
Back Exercises and Tracking Sheet
Planning low back exercises for the individual, with notes on performing and tracking them. Build your movement programme on the assessment of a physician and a physiotherapist.
Updated: · General information

Before you begin
Low back exercises are selected according to the cause of the pain and the findings on examination. There is no single list of movements or number of repetitions that applies to everyone.
Movement through the day
Continue the daily activities you can tolerate; you may break walking into shorter stretches. Go to an emergency department if you develop new problems controlling your bladder or bowels, numbness around the groin, or progressive weakness.
Keep track of your programme
Record the movements and repetitions your physiotherapist has shown you on the tracking sheet. Stop and speak to your team if you develop new numbness, dizziness or increasing pain.
